Designing

Image
I have been using some of my quarantine time off to do much-needed tasks around the house, such as spring cleaning and making a "to do" list. High on that list was "find and frame some art for over the TV." I knew I wanted black and white, minimalistic quotes from my two favorite books (Chronicles of Narnia and Atlas Shrugged), but nothing was really jumping out at me. The only piece I found that was remotely like what I envisioned was over $40 and I didn't love the print. I've been wanting to learn to use  Canva  and this seemed like an achievable first project! I'm THRILLED with how they turned out! I'll be buying some black frames online (because... social distancing ugh) and can't wait to get them up on the wall (will share a photo when I do!).

When in doubt, wear a cactus

With so many fashion dos and don’ts these days, it’s hard to stay on top of the fashion food chain. Take some advice from this friendly canine. Throw caution to the wind and wear what makes you happy! Even if it’s a cactus.

Doug

Little Miss Muffet had some whey,  Aladdin had a magic lamp & David had a sling  But Doug had a bag of Twizzlers  and  I think that’s something worth  mentioning

Turn up the beat

When life gets ruff, just turn up the beat. Or in this case, grab a pair of headphones and pretend your favorite music is playing. It should have the same effect.

Deep Sea Diving Gone Wrong

Image
After a long, grueling day of quarantining, there’s nothing that says relaxation quite like an octopus on one’s head. If you don’t believe me, just ask these fine fellows who were not bribed in any manner  to model this sea creature. They give it 5 out of 5 stars. Would recommend to anyone not allergic to stuffed sea creatures.

Lavender Hot Chocolate

It's no secret that I'm obsessed with lavender. Strangely, I remember that years ago I did not like lavender at all and avoided anything lavender scented like the plague! When I began using essential oils and read about the many benefits of lavender oil I reluctantly bought a bottle and to my surprise it quickly became one of my favorites! I still love to diffuse lavender, but I also love lavender flavored food. One of my favorite coffee shops near work sells lavender lemonade - be still my heart! And while I love(loveLOVE) Starbucks, the best London Fog lattes I've ever had have all featured lavender syrup, not vanilla. I found lavender extract at my grocery store before quarantining began and I've really enjoyed using it in my own kitchen. Last month I made a coworker a gorgeous lavender vanilla birthday cake that was to die for, and I've made my share of London Fog lattes, too.  This recipe marries lavender with chocolate and is super easy to boot.
